Comprehensive Eye Exams
A full eye examination involves thorough evaluation of ocular health and function. This includes assessment of visual function, provision of eyeglass and/or contact lens prescriptions, diagnosis and management of eye diseases, as well as evaluation of systemic conditions that may affect the eyes.

Contact Lens Services
Our full scope contact lens practice ranges from soft lens fittings to more complex rigid lens customizations. Our practice is equipped with the latest technology to determine the lens option best suited to the patient’s eye anatomy and visual needs.

Ocular Disease Management
It is important that many eye diseases be detected early to minimize the chance of severe vision compromise. Some eye conditions may even be an indication of systemic problems occurring elsewhere within the body. Depending on the condition and severity, our optometrists may co-manage with ophthalmologists, family doctors and other specialists to ensure our patients’ overall well-being. These may include glaucoma, cataracts, retinal diseases, dry eye syndrome.

Pediatrics
Healthy eyes and good vision are critically important components of a child's ability to learn. In fact, it is found that 80 percent of learning is visual-based. We recommend that every child receives an initial eye exam between 6 to 12 months of age, followed by annual exams during the school years. Some signs that may indicate a child is having visual problems include complaints of headaches, tendency to rub his or her eyes, holding reading materials very close or avoiding near work.
Children’s annual eye exams are partially covered by MSP up until 18 years of age.

Orthokeratology & Myopia Control
Many children are developing high amounts of myopia (i.e. nearsightedness) at an early age. Progression can lead to a higher risk of sight-threatening diseases as adults - this includes conditions such as retinal detachment and glaucoma.
Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) is a specialty contact lens treatment that has been shown to reduce the rate of myopic progression. It involves non-surgical corneal reshaping of the eye using night-time custom contact lenses. This reversible and non-invasive procedure eliminates the need for any glasses or contact lenses during daytime. Of note, Ortho-K is also an excellent option for adults who are seeking an alternative to conventional glasses/contact lens wear or laser vision correction surgery. See our FAQs for more information about this service.

Laser Vision Correction Co-Management
Laser vision correction is a surgical option that can be considered if one would like to achieve good vision without the need for glasses or contact lenses. A consultation with an optometrist can determine whether a patient is a good candidate for the procedure. We co-manage and refer to local surgeons, after which we follow closely with our patients for routine assessments to ensure a safe and healthy recovery process.
